Sony will cut the price of its premium anime subscription service Crunchyroll in nearly 100 countries and territories as of today including the U.K., China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sweden, South Korea, Turkey, India and Brazil.

For example, in the UK it will fall from £7.99 to £5.99 per month while in India it’s set to plunge from $9.99 USD to 99 rupees (around $1.24 USD). Despite the drop, the service will offer a larger anime library in those territories than before. The full list of countries scoring price decreases is up at Crunchyroll.com.

Sadly the price drop is not coming to other key markets including the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Mexico, Germany or France.

Crunchyroll touts itself as the world’s biggest anime streaming service with more than 30,000 episodes following its merger earlier this year with rival service Funimation – all of it owned by Sony.
