Hulu has released several promo trailers for three series, two of which hail from its FX On Hulu brand.
First up comes the first look at the fifth season of the multiple Emmy-winning “The Handmaid’s Tale” based on the acclaimed novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood. The show returns with a double-episode premiere on September 14th.
In the new run June faces consequences for murder while struggling to redefine her identity and purpose. The widowed Serena attempts to raise her profile in Toronto as Gilead’s influence creeps into Canada. Commander Lawrence works with Aunt Lydia as he tries to reform Gilead and rise in power.
Next comes the official trailer for the second season of the episodic anthology series “American Horror Stories”. Denis O’Hare, Max Greenfield and Bella Thorne appear in the new run which “promises a new nightmare every week.” The series returns July 21st.
Finally there’s “The Patient,” a limited series about a serial killer (Domhnall Gleeson) who takes a therapist (Steve Carell) hostage to help curb his homicidal urges.
Linda Emond, Laura Niemi, Andrew Leeds, Alex Rich, and David Alan Grier co-star while “The Americans” creator Joel Weisberg and writer/producer Joel Fields serve as co-showrunners. The first three episodes will release on August 30th.
