In the wake of yesterday’s Emmy nominations, HBO Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys spoke with THR. He discussed what’s coming next for the premium cabler, and what could be up for nominations this time next year.
First up, he confirms the TV series adaptation of “The Last of Us” will arrive in early 2023 and he has “nothing to report on the Jon Snow development,” while no decision has been made as yet regarding the fifth season of “Westworld”.
While they haven’t announced dates yet, he says he imagines that the second season of “The White Lotus,” the third season of “Hacks,” and the fourth seasons of both “Barry” and “Succession” will all be within next year’s Emmy eligibility window (ie. before May 2023).
HBO racked up an impressive 140 nominations across 24 shows yesterday, the highest of any outlet.
