Amazon Prime has cancelled its Sissy Spacek and J.K. Simmons-led sci-fi series “Night Sky” after just one eight-episode season which launched in its entirety on May 20th.
Produced by Amazon Studios and Legendary Television, the story follows Irene (Spacek) and Franklin (Simmons) who stumble upon a portal to an alien planet.
The couple’s quiet life together is upended when new parties attempt to interrogate them about the mysterious gateway and the world beyond it.
That’s not the only the series coming to an end. Actor Bryan Cranston has confirmed his Showtime series “Your Honor” will end after its upcoming second season which just began production.
Joey Hartstone, who served as a writer on the first season, takes over as new showrunner while Keith Machekanyanga has been promoted to a series regular in his role as Lil Mo.
Cranston stars as Michael Desiato, a respected New Orleans judge whose teenage son is involved in a hit-and-run that leads to a high-stakes game of lies, deceit and impossible choices. It became the most-watched debut season on Showtime ever with 6.6 million weekly viewers.
