No Plans For More Infamous Sly Cooper

Celebrated PlayStation game developer Sucker Punch Productions began the PlayStation 4 generation with the well-regarded launch title “Infamous: Second Son” and closed it out with the celebrated “Ghost of Tsushima”.

Prior to that, Sucker Punch was mostly known for the first two “Infamous” games and the “Sly Cooper” franchise on PS3 and there have long been calls for remasters or revivals of both those franchises.

However, in a post on its website about its 25th anniversary, the company says there no plans for either new entries, remakes or remasters of its legacy franchises right now as the increased scale of its newest game requires the “full attention” of the studio:

“With our focus on our current project, we have no plans to revisit Infamous or Sly Cooper right now, and no other studio is currently working on projects related to those franchises either. These characters are very special and near and dear to our hearts, so while we’d never say never to re-opening those doors down the road, for now there are no Infamous or Sly Cooper games in development.”

While Sucker Punch isn’t ready to talk about its mysterious next game, job listings for the studio have implied a “Ghost of Tsushima” follow-up is in the works.

The first two “Infamous” titles, along with Konami’s “Metal Gear Solid 4” and Insomniac’s “Resistance” trilogy, often top editorial lists of PlayStation exclusive titles that have yet to score remasters/remakes that are playable (without needing to stream them) on current-gen hardware.
