Universal Pictures is reportedly circling the Gal Gadot-led biopic epic “Cleopatra” which was previously set up at Paramount Pictures.
Paramount reportedly remains interested in the project but wasn’t prepared to meet the timeline that the project’s creative elements necessitated.
The film will explore the life of the famed Ancient Egyptian ruler who had a complicated relationship with Rome as she became the lover of Caesar and later Marc Antony.
“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” director/executive producer Kari Skogland remains attached to direct while Laeta Kalogridis wrote the screenplay. Gadot, Charles Roven and Jaron Varsano produce.
