“Maverick” Becomes Cruise’s Biggest Hit

Maverick Becomes Cruises Biggest Hit
Paramount Pictures

Paramount and Skydance’s “Top Gun: Maverick” has become Tom Cruise’s highest-earning film at the worldwide box office (not adjusted for inflation).

Through Thursday, the film has collected $806.3 million worldwide – $422.1 million domestically and $384.2 million overseas.

That pushes it past the $791 million globally that “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” earned in 2018 and gives Cruise his first genuine shot at joining the billion-dollar club at the global box office.

The film is certain to gross over $900 million globally, but the lack of a Chinese and Russian release may stop it short of breaking the ten-figure barrier.

‘Maverick’ has also received superb word-of-mouth with a 96% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics and a stellar A+ CinemaScore from audiences.
