Australian filmmaker John Hillcoat (“The Proposition,” “The Road”) is set to direct a film adaptation of J.G. Ballard’s 1988 novella “Running Wild” based on a screenplay by David Leland.
The story is set inside an exclusive gated community in the desert on the outskirts of Los Angeles where thirty-two adults – all smart and successful professionals – are brutally murdered while their children are abducted and there’s no trace of who committed the crime.
A Forensic Psychologist is enlisted to investigate and soon runs into conflict with their superiors as their suspicions fall on a very different kind of community – a religious cult.
Ara Keshishian and Petr Jakl will produce.
