Natasha Liu Bordizzo has been cast as Sabine Wren in the upcoming “Star Wars: Ahsoka” TV series for the Disney+ service.

Sabine Wren is a young Mandalorian and a key part of the rebel team on the ‘Ghost’ starship – serving as chief engineer, linguist, and their weapons and demolitions expert.

The Dave Filoni-showrun “Ahsoka” will act as a kind of sequel to Filoni’s animated “Star Wars: Rebels” series – which means several characters will be making the jump to live-action.

Along with Bordizzo’s Wren, Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano and Katee Sackhoff’s “Clone Wars” character Bo-Katan Kryze, a brief teaser clip shown at the Star Wars Celebration event today.

The event confirmed that robot Chopper, the Twi’lek revolutionary Hera Syndulla, and ‘Rebels’ leading man Ezra Bridger are all set to appear in “Ahsoka”. In addition, the tiny engineer character Babu Frik from “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” will appear in the new season of “The Mandalorian”.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ivanna Sakhno and Hayden Christensen also star in the “Ahsoka” series which just began filming a few weeks ago ahead of a 2023 airing.
