Lucasfilm has shared a photo to mark the start of production on the new “Star Wars” original series “Ahsoka” for the Disney+ service. Filming is now underway in Los Angeles.
Rosario Dawson reprises her role as Jedi Ahsoka Tano alongside Hayden Christensen as her former mentor Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren. Ray Stevenson, Ivanna Sakhno and Mary Elizabeth Winstead also star.
The character of Ahsoka first debuted in the animated realm including “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars Rebels” before making the jump to live-action played by Dawson in “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett.”
The series follows in the wake of the third season of “The Mandalorian” which wrapped production on the same stages back in late March ahead of an airing later this year.
“Ahsoka” is expected to premiere sometime in 2023.
