HBO Max has premiered the official trailer for its telemovie “Father of the Bride,” a third iteration of the classic comedy that this time stars Andy Garcia and Gloria Estefan as the heads of a Cuban Miami family.
The story will center on the father of a soon-to-be bride coming to terms with his daughter’s nuptials and will be told through the relationships in a big, sprawling family.
Adding a complication to all this and new to the remake is Garcia and Estefan’s characters have a secret – they’re getting a divorce.
Adria Arjona, Diego Boneta, Chloe Fineman, Isabela Merced, Enrique Murciano, Macarena Achaga, Laura Harring and Pedro Damian also star.
The previous 1950 film starred Spencer Tracy, Joan Bennett and Elizabeth Taylor while the 1991 film had Steve Martin, Diane Keaton and Kimberly Williams.
“Father of the Bride” premieres exclusively on HBO Max on June 16th.
