Could “Fallen Order” Tie Into “Kenobi”?

Ewan McGregor popped up on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show this week to start early promotional talk for the six-part “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series arriving in a few weeks.

The pair discussed a range of topics related to the character and show including the rabid fandom who know all the lore and canon more than he does. He goes on to praise director Deborah Chow who “really knows [her stuff]” regarding the “Star Wars” universe and how it all fits together.

He then says a rather generalist quote that has since triggered a lot of online talk, saying: “all of the storylines have to… match up… [you] can’t have some fact in a video game that doesn’t match up to the movie.”

That comment has led to discussion on social media and on gaming sites. They speculate that with the recent in-canon “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” video game being set around the same time in history as the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series, the show could offer a cameo of either Cal Kestis (Cameron Monaghan) or another character from the game.

Eagle-eyed fans at Resetera say crossover elements can already been seen in the trailers. The purge troopers and a temple location, both of which debuted in the game, are now given live-action form in the series. One source for the site says an Inquisitor also deliberately recreates an exact animation from the game in one of the trailers.

Disney and Lucasfilm are not shy about fan-servicing wherever and whenever they can. We’ll find out either way soon as “Obi-Wan Kenobi” drops its first two episodes on Disney+ on May 27th.
