It’s official, the proposed sequel to the famed early 1990s NBC series “Quantum Leap” is a go with the network pleased enough with the pilot to order it to series.
The new take will center on Dr. Ben Seong (Raymond Lee), a world-renowned physicist and man of faith. Thirty years after Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished, a new team has been assembled to restart the project in the hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.
The series was ordered to pilot in January and stars Lee, alongside Caitlin Bassett, Nanrisa Lee, Mason Alexander Park, and Ernie Hudson as the project’s head Herbert ‘Magic’ Williams. Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt (“La Brea”) serve as writers and executive producers.
The first photo from the series has also been released but is fairly vague, only showing Lee’s character and not much else.
