HBO Max has announced that their Sarah Lancashire-led series “Julia” has been renewed for a second season just before its first season finale goes to air tonight.
The series is based on the life of influential cook and television host Julia Child who hosted the highly influential and award-winning series “The French Chef”.
The streamer’s saucy series “Minx” has also been renewed for a second season. Ophelia Lovibond plays an eager feminist who reams with a low-rent publisher (Jake Johnson) to create an erotic publication for women.
Next, Netflix’s romance series “Sweet Magnolias” has also been renewed for a third season. JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott, and Heather Headley are reprising their roles as the trio of characters deal with family, careers, and relationships.
The news isn’t all good though. Peacock has cancelled its “Saved by the Bell” revival after two seasons with the final run airing in November last year.
Original series stars Elizabeth Berkley Lauren and Mario Lopez returned as regulars while Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tiffani Thiessen, and Lark Voorhies had recurring roles in the revival which received mostly positive reviews.
