Whilst Ewan McGregor had obvious issues with all the blue screen on the “Star Wars” prequels, the actor seems to have had a much more enjoyable experience filming the Deborah Chow-directed “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series.

The series reunites McGregor and Hayden Christensen after last working together on 2005’s “Star Wars: Revenge of The Sith”. Speaking with Total Film a few weeks ahead of the show’s premiere, McGregor says this probably won’t be the last time he’ll play the iconic Jedi should the opportunity arise:

“If we were to get an opportunity to do it again, I’d be totally up for that. It was nice to come back and to bridge that gap between me and Alec Guinness. I got as much, or more, out of playing him this time than I did in the first three movies put together. That’s to do with the writing, and the people we were making the series with, and the technology, and how different everything is.”

At present, there are no plans for a “Kenobi” follow-up as this has been apparently designed as a ‘limited series’. That could change though, and if so it would likely be announced at Star Wars Celebration later this month.

The other possibility is McGregor’s Kenobi could appear in another series the way Christensen will return for the upcoming “Ahsoka” series.

“Obi-Wan Kenobi” will begin airing on May 27th.
