Amazon Freevee has picked up the spin-off series “Bosch: Legacy” for a second season.
The renewal comes just days ahead of the series premiere on May 6th and continues the story of Titus Welliver’s Harry Bosch from the Amazon Prime series which ran for seven seasons.
Moving from Amazon’s SVOD to its newly rebranded AVOD service, the new series sees Bosch having left the LAPD and becoming a private investigator whilst his daughter Maddie (Madison Lintz) is a rookie cop in training.
Amazon Freevee also is expanding its licensed content lineup through a short-term film licensing agreement with Disney for a “limited selection” of 20th Century Studios titles including the “Deadpool” films,” “Logan” and “Hidden Figures”.
Freevee is also developing a US remake of the BBC’s award-winning anthology series “Inside No. 9” which hails from Lionsgate Television and BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions.
Freevee’s co-head of content and programming Ryan Pirozzi says a second season greenlight was “easy” after having seen the ten-episode first season.
