NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock has announced that its “Bel-Air” drama has become the platform’s most-streamed original series and has reached 8 million accounts to date.
That’s doubly impressive considering Peacock only has a modest U.S.-only reach with 28 million monthly active accounts (of which only 13 million are paid). The series premiered with three episodes on Super Bowl Sunday.
Peacock President Kelly Campbell also revealed the show is the third biggest title on the platform, but wouldn’t say what the other two were. The likeliest possibilities? “Yellowstone” and “The Office”.
“Bel-Air” scored a two-season order and is slated to return in 2023 with Will Smith continuing as an executive producer. Smith’s other recent series, the stand-up comedy show “This Joka,” will not be returning for a second season on Roku.
