HBO Max has premiered the trailer for “George Carlin’s American Dream,” the Judd Apatow and Michael Bonfiglio co-directed two-part documentary about the life and career of George Carlin – arguably the most famous stand-up comedian of them all.
From his ‘seven dirty words’ to his observations of religion, society and language, the late Carlin remains one of the smartest and most subversive comedians to ever lived.
Carlin’s career spanned half a century during which he headlined 14 HBO comedy specials, whilst he stayed highly resonant and up to date with his material right up to his passing in 2008.
Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Patton Oswalt, Stephen Colbert, Bill Burr, Bette Midler, W. Kamau Bell, Sam Jay, Judy Gold, Jon Stewart, and others appear in the specials which premiere May 20th on HBO Max.
