Aimee-Ffion Edwards (‘Peaky Blinders”) and Kadiff Kirwan (“The Stranger”) are joining the Apple TV+ espionage drama “Slow Horses” which is wrapping its first six-episode run today.

The show’s first season adapts the first two novels in Mick Herron’s Slough House series with twelve episodes in total divided into two blocks of six episodes each.

The first block, adapting the first novel “Slow Horses,” airs its finale today. The second block, adapting the second book “Dead Lions,” has already completed production with a sneak peek trailer to be shown with the finale tonight.

Those episodes will add two more characters to Slough House – Shirley Dander and Marcus Longridge – the roles the just announced pair will likely play.

In the new season, the agents uncover a shadowy tangle of ancient secrets that seems to lead back to a man named Alexander Popov, and a decades-old conspiracy with a brand-new target: London’s newest, tallest skyscraper.

Apple hasn’t given any indication of when the second half of the first season will be released but the core cast are returning including Gary Oldman and Kristin Scott Thomas.

A proper second season hasn’t been greenlit as yet but is in development.
