Syfy’s dramedy series “Reginald the Vampire,” starring “Spider-Man” alum Jacob Batalon, has set up streaming homes on both Hulu and Amazon.
The story unfolds in a world populated by beautiful, fit and vain vampires. Reginald (Batalon) tumbles headlong into it as an unlikely hero who will have to navigate every kind of obstacle – the girl he loves but can’t be with, a bully manager at work and the vampire chieftain who wants him dead.
The ten-episode series, based on the book “Fat Vampire” by Johnny B. Truant, kicks off production of its first season this week ahead of a planned airing on the Syfy Channel in the United States.
Now, Hulu has acquired second-window U.S. rights to the series whilst Amazon Prime has snagged Canada, Australia, and New Zealand rights for the series. Harley Peyton (“Twin Peaks,” “Chucky”) serves as showrunner.
