Fiona Shaw, CCH Pounder and Jason Watkins have joined the cast of the “Anansi Boys” series, based on Neil Gaiman’s novel, for Amazon Studios.
The story follows Charlie Nancy (Malachi Kirby), a young man who learns his recently deceased father (Delroy Lindo) was the trickster god Anansi. He also learns he has a brother who has now entered his life determined to make it more interesting… and dangerous.
L. Scott Caldwell, Joy Richardson and Lachele Carl have also joined the cast of the series which is set in contemporary London and is currently in the midst of filming in Edinburgh. Gaiman serves as co-showrunner and executive producer.
Pounder plays an old family friend of Charlie’s. Shaw plays retired dancer and comedian’s widow Maeve Livingstone, and Watkins said late comedian’s crooked manager who is also Charlie’s boss.
