Searchlight Pictures (formerly Fox Searchlight) is sending three of its upcoming films direct to Hulu in the U.S. and on Star on Disney+ internationally this Summer.
The announcement follows in the wake of 20th Century Studios revealing their plan to send much of both their own slate and Searchlight’s slate directly to Hulu/Star from now on with only a handful of titles each year getting theatrical runs.
“Spa Night” director Andrew Ahn’s new rom-com “Fire Island,” starring Joel Kim Booster and Bowen Yang in what’s described as a gay version of “Pride and Prejudice,” will hit June 3rd.
Sophie Hyde’s sex comedy “Good Luck to You, Leo Grande” starring Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack, in the story of a retired school teacher who hires a young sex worker, hits June 17th.
Quinn Shephard’s “And Not Okay,” starring Zoey Deutch as a wannabe influencer who gets caught up in a major lie following an incident in Paris, will arrive August 5th. Mia Isaac and Dylan O’Brien co-star.
