HBO Max has premiered the full-length trailer for its new pirate comedy series “Our Flag Means Death” starring Rhys Darby, Nat Faxon, Fred Armisen, Rory Kinnear, Joel Fry, Leslie Jones, Ewen Bremner, Con O’Neill, and Taika Waititi.
Waititi also executive produces and directs the pilot episode of the series loosely based on the true adventures of Stede Bonnet, a pampered 18th-century aristocrat who abandoned his life of privilege to become a ‘gentleman pirate’.
Now captain of a pirate ship, he struggles to earn the respect of his potentially mutinous crew. His fortunes change after a fateful run-in with the infamous Captain Blackbeard (Waititi).
David Jenkins serves as showrunner on the six-episode run which kicks off on the cabler on March 3rd.
