57 Seconds
Morgan Freeman and “The Hunger Games” alum Josh Hutcherson are teaming for Rusty Cundieff’s action sci-fi thriller “57 Seconds” at Highland Film Group. Macon Blair penned the film based on a story by British author E.C. Tubbs and filming begins in April on location in Louisiana.
Hutcherson plays a tech blogger who lands a career-defining interview with visionary guru Anton Burrell (Freeman). After thwarting an attack, the blogger picks up a mysterious ring the guru dropped and discovers it allows its possessor to travel 57 seconds into the past. He uses the ring to take down the pharmaceutical company responsible for his sister’s death. [Source: THR]
Turn Me On
Nick Robinson and Bel Powley have been set to star in Michael Tyburski’s sci-fi rom-com “Turn Me On”. The project is penned by Angela Bourassa and will shoot this Fall.
The story is set in a world where the inconvenience of human emotion has been eradicated by a government-imposed daily vitamin. When a young couple skips their dose, they discover love, joy and sex for the first time and its emotional baggage. [Source: Deadline]
Harold and the Purple Crayon
Zooey Deschanel will join Zachary Levi and Lil Rel Howery in the film adaptation of the classic children’s book “Harold and the Purple Crayon”.
The story follows a four-year-old who, with the power of his crayon, creates worlds around him. Carlos Saldanha will direct the live-action movie from a screenplay by David Guion and Michael Handelman. [Source: THR]
