The trailer has been released the highly anticipated documentary “Gamestop: Rise of the Players” which opens in cinemas on January 28th.
The film is set to depict the details of the now-infamous incident last January when brick-and-mortar video game retailer GameStop saw its stock rise over 2500% amidst a wild flurry of volatility.
The run was fueled by a ‘short squeeze’ fueled by Reddit-organised online investors taking on a handful of billion-dollar hedge fund behemoths – and winning. This led to an internal investigation confronting issues in Wall Street that many have been rallying against for years.
