Beauty and the Beast
Fra Fee (“Hawkeye”) has joined the Disney+ live-action musical “Beauty and the Beast” prequel series. Luke Evans and Josh Gad reprise their roles from the 2017 film in this eight-episode run.

The pair set off with LeFou’s stepsister Tilly (Briana Middleton) after a surprising revelation sends them on an unexpected journey. Fee will star as Prince Benoit Berlioz, a childhood friend of Tilly. [Source: Variety]

Deputy X
Glen Powell (“Set It Up,” “Scream Queens,” “Top Gun: Maverick”) created the idea and will star in the high-concept sci-fi action-thriller “Deputy X” at Universal Pictures.

Jack Paglen (“Alien: Covenant”) will write the script which is said to be tonally akin to “The Running Man” and “Logan’s Run”. “Fast and Furious” franchise writer Chris Morgan will produce alongside Ainsley Davies, Paglen and Powell. [Source: THR]

Honor Society
Angourie Rice, Gaten Matarazzo and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are set to lead the cast of the Oran Zegman-directed comedy “Honor Society” from Awesomeness Films and the Paramount+ service where it will debut later this year. Shooting is underway in Vancouver.

David A. Goodman (“The Orville”) penned the film about an ambitious high school senior whose sole focus is getting into Harvard and concocts a Machiavellian-like plan to take down her top three student competitors… things take a turn when she falls for one. [Source: BSC Kids]

Leave the World Behind
Ethan Hawke, Myha’la Herrold, Ryan Kiera Armstrong and Charlie Evans are set to join Julia Roberts and Mahershala Ali in the Sam Esmail-directed thriller “Leave the World Behind”.

The story follows two families, strangers to each other, who are forced together on a long weekend gone terribly wrong. Hawke will play Roberts’ husband with Armstong and Evans as their kids. Herrold will play Ali’s child. [Source: Indian Express]

Freelance
Alice Eve (“Star Trek Into Darkness”) and Marton Csokas (“The Last Duel”) will join John Cena, Alison Brie and Juan Pablo Raba in Pierre Morel’s action-comedy “Freelance” now filming in Colombia.

Cena plays a retired special forces operator who, after several years of suburb life, takes a gig providing security for a female journalist (Brie) as she interviews a cruel dictator. When a military coup breaks out, the three go on the run. [Source: Deadline]

Bel-Air
Peacock has filled out the cast of “Bel-Air,” its drama series reboot of Will Smith’s “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” about a young man’s complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air. The series launches on February 13th.

Karrueche Tran, Duane Martin, Joe Holt, April Parker Jones, SteVonte Hart, Scottie Thompson, Jon Beavers, Tyler Barnhardt and Charlie Hall will all join newcomer Jabari Banks as Will along with previously announced series regulars Adrian Holmes, Cassandra Freeman, Olly Sholotan, Coco Jones, Akira Akbar, Jimmy Akingbola, Jordan L.
