Showtime’s word-of-mouth hit “Yellowjackets” finished its first season this past Sunday and has become the second most-streamed series in the premium cabler’s history.

The season finale pulled in around 1.3 million viewers across platforms on Sunday alone, more than double its audience from the season premiere and quadrupling its streaming viewership.

On the whole, the ten-episode first season has averaged over 5 million weekly viewers across platforms. That marks the highest for a debut series on Showtime since “Billions” first premiered back in 2016.

The psychological horror series has also been critically acclaimed, pulling in a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, landing on dozens of ‘Best of 2021’ TV lists, and stirring much online discussion and debate.

It sits behind only the recent “Dexter: New Blood” revival which has become the most-streamed series in Showtime’s history. “Yellowjackets” has already been renewed for a second season.
