“Wallace & Gromit” creators Aardman Animations are reportedly developing a new, open-world video game based on an original IP of their own creation.
The game will focus on “inventive mechanics and compelling characters” in a title that tonally is a “3D action-adventure genre” with a narrative focus along with Aardman’s trademark “humor, love and craftsmanship”.
Adverts seeking people to work on the title say the team hope to create “amazing, hilarious, surprising and varied characters” with defined lore. They also suggest the game is still fairly early in the works.
The studio has partnered with a major publisher to produce the title, likely Bandai Namco as was previously announced back in 2020. Aardman previously co-developed the WW1 adventure game “11-11: Memories Retold” released to good reviews.
