“Judgment” and “Lost Judgement,” the successful spin-off games tied to Sega’s best-selling “Yakuza” franchise, are reportedly being adapted into a live-action TV series.
Kotaku and Collider report that according to Japanese publication Nikkai Gendai, a TV adaptation is potentially in the works at Asahi TV and going by working title of “Sabakarezaru” or “The Unjudged”.
Takuya Kimura, the actor who provided his voice and likeness for the game, will again star as the character of Takayuki Yagami – a former defense attorney turned private investigator in Tokyo’s Kamurocho red light district. The first game saw him investigating a serial killer murdering local yakuza.
“Judgment” was released worldwide on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia on June 25th 2019. The sequel “Lost Judgement” hit platforms in September last year.
