Ahead of its premiere next week at the virtual Sundance Film Festival, Searchlight Pictures has acquired Mimi Cave’s horror film “Fresh” with plans to directly release the film to streaming.
Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sebastian Stan lead the cast of the film in which a woman, tired of app dating, gives her number to the awkwardly charming cosmetic surgeon Steve after a produce-section meet-cute at the grocery store.
A subsequent date at a local bar turns into a chemistry-laden hookup. She accepts his invitation to an impromptu weekend getaway, only to find he has been hiding some unusual appetites.
Lauryn Kahn penned the film which will premiere on Hulu in the U.S. on March 4th and on Star via Disney internationally at a later date.
