Jessica Rothe (“Happy Death Day”) and Andrew Koji (“Warrior”) have joined the cast of the Sam Raimi-produced revenge action fantasy “Boy Kills World” for Raimi Productions, Vertigo Entertainment, Nthibah Pictures and Hammerstone Studios.
Rothe will play an assassin named June 27. She replaces Samara Weaving as the film’s female lead, Weaving having to exit the project due to scheduling conflicts.
Set in a dystopian fever dream reality, the story follows the deaf-mute Boy (Bill Skarsgard) who has a vibrant imagination and who sees his family murdered.
He escapes to the jungle where he is trained by a mysterious shaman (Yayan Ruhian) to repress his childish imagination and become an instrument of death.
Isaiah Mustafa also stars. Moritz Mohr directs the film which will begin filming in mid-February in South Africa.
