Paramount Pictures has picked up worldwide rights to the Frank Grillo-led action thriller “Little Dixie” with plans for a release in the back half of 2022.
John Swab (“Ida Red”) pens and directs the film in which Grillo plays Doc, a man who facilitates a fragile truce between the Governor and a cartel – trading prosecutorial leniency for finance.
When this truce dissolves, Doc is left to fend for himself and protect the one untainted thing in his life: his daughter, Little Dixie. Eric Dane, Beau Knapp and Annabeth Gish co-star in the Oklahoma-shot feature.
That’s not the only acquisition deal this week. Also, Lionsgate’s Grindstone Entertainment Group has acquired the North American rights to WW2 action-thriller “Wolf Hound” for a multi-platform release this summer.
Michael B. Chait helms the film inspired by the real-life Nazi special operations unit KG 200 that shot down, repaired and flew Allied aircraft as Trojan horses. James Maslow and Trevor Donovan star in the feature.
