The costly Apple TV+ media drama series “The Morning Show” has been renewed for a third season – and is getting a third showrunner.
Charlotte Stoudt will take over as showrunner starting with season three. She replaces Kerry Ehrin, who developed the series and served as showrunner on the first and second seasons.
Ehrin will serve as a consultant for the third season while continuing to develop new series for Apple TV+ under an overall deal. Ehrin herself replaced original showrunner, Jay Carson, as part of an overhaul of the first season in 2018.
The second season ran from September to November last year. Whilst not a critical darling, the series has seen reviews slightly improve with time and the show has scored awards notices.
Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell, Billy Crudup and Greta Lee star with the third season expected to tackle life in a post-quarantine, post-COVID world which has culturally shifted and how its impacted work, career, life and interpersonal communication.
