Oscar-winning actress Allison Janney has signed on to join New Regency’s sci-fi feature “True Love” to be written and directed by Gareth Edwards (“Rogue One,” “Godzilla”) for New Regency.

The Makani
Netflix is set to release “Shoplifters” and “After the Storm” filmmaker Hirokazu Kore-eda’s new TV series “The Makanai: Cooking For The Maiko House” later this year.
Adapted from the comic book “Maiko in Kyoto,” the series is set in the geisha district of Kyoto where the character Kiyo becomes a Makanai, who is a person who cooks meals, at a house where apprentice geishas live together. [Source: Deadline]
The Honeymooners
CBS Studios is developing a new version of iconic working-class comedy “The Honeymooners” with this version dubbed a “bold, female-driven reboot”.
The story follows a newlywed couple determined to have a marriage where they are true equals in every way – but can it work? Lindsey Shockley (“Black-ish”) will serve as showrunner while Damon Wayans Jr., Kelly Park and Kameron Tarlow executive produce. [Source: THR]
