Peacock has announced that a three-part documentary about Barney the Dinosaur has begun production for the streamer which will air it cometime in 2022.
Tommy Avallone helms the docuseries which will examine the meteoric rise of the beloved character who captured the hearts of millions of children and then became the target of hate and rage across pop culture.
That’s not the only doco deal today as HBO has acquired the rights to the feature documentary “Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off” which will debut on HBO and become available to stream on HBO Max in 2022.
Mark and Jay Duplass executive produce and Sam Jones directs the feature offering a history of Hawk’s personal life and career, chronicling his relationship with skateboarding.
Finally, Microsoft has announced the six-part documentary mini-series “Power On: The Story of Xbox” which will release on December 13th and offer the “untold story of the people behind the box, glitches and all.”
