Following a tease last week, Focus Features has now released the first trailer for “Downton Abbey: A New Era,” the second film to continue the immensely popular period TV series.
In the new film, residents of Downton Abbey move further into the 1920s and approach both a new decade and the beginning of the modern world. All the usual cast is here including Dame Maggie Smith reprising her iconic role of Dowager Countess Violet Crawley.
Simon Curtis directs the project which writer Julian Fellowes has called an unabashedly ‘feel good’ film. The movie opens in cinemas in the United States on March 18th next year.
