Mad Max
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced that all four films in George Miller’s classic “Mad Max” film series will get the full 4K Ultra HD disc treatment on November 2nd in a boxset.
Additionally, the second and third films which have not yet been released in 4K, “Mad Max The Road Warrior” and “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome,” will also be available for purchase individually. [Source: WBHE]
Five Nights at Freddy’s
Blumhouse CEO Jason Blum has confirmed that filmmaker Chris Columbus is no longer attached to the movie adaptation of the killer animatronics-themed video game series “Five Nights at Freddy’s”.
Blum didn’t indicate who may have replaced him but says the delays with the movie have been about getting the script right with multiple versions having been crafted, but the project remains active and he’s confident it will eventually be made. [Source: Collider]
The Broken Earth
Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society has been set to produce the TriStar Pictures film adaptation of N.K Jemisin’s fantasy-action novel trilogy “The Broken Earth”.
The story unfolds on a harsh futuristic Earth and a continent called the Stillness which endures seasonal apocalyptic events that shake the world and its inhabitants during these ‘seasons’. [Source: Deadline]
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
The official Twitter account for the upcoming “Sonic the Hedgehog” sequel film has confirmed that Lee Majdoub’s Agent Stone, the right-hand man to Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik, is set to return for the follow-up.
Filming on the sequel wrapped back in June with Idris Elba set to voice Knuckles alongside Ben Schwartz as Sonic. “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” will hit cinemas on April 8th 2022. [Source: Twitter]
