Amazon has handed out series order for its college-set spinoff of Eric Kripke’s acclaimed superhero satire and drama “The Boys”.
In the works for more than a year, the untitled R-rated series is set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International).
The series explores the lives of hormonal, competitive superheroes as they put their physical, sexual and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities.
Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Shane Paul McGhie, Aimee Carrero, Reina Hardesty and Maddie Phillips star while “Agent Carter” duo Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters will serve as showrunners for Sony Pictures TV.
The news comes as “The Boys” recently wrapped production on season three ahead of a 2022 launch.
