Dominic Sherwood (“Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments,” “Penny Dreadful: City of Angels”) has been announced as the main star of a direct-to-disc & VOD reboot of 1996 Arnold Schwarzenegger-led action feature “Eraser”.
The film follows U.S. Marshal Mason Pollard who specializes in engineering the fake deaths of witnesses that need to leave no trace of their existence.
“Eraser: Reborn” has reportedly already wrapped and was shot under-the-radar this summer with a cast including Jacky Lai (“V-Wars”), McKinley Belcher III (“Ozark”) and Eddie Ramos (“Animal Kingdom”).
John Pogue (“Deep Blue Sea 3”) directed while Hunt Lowry and Patty Reed produce for Warner Bros Home Entertainment. Post-production is underway for a Spring 2022 release.
The Chuck Russell-directed original starred Schwarzenegger as a witness protection specialist whose co-workers are in on a case involving high-tech weapons. Vanessa Williams, James Caan and James Coburn co-starred in the $100 million film which grossed around $240 million.
