Paramount Players has picked up the domestic rights to eOne and Dark Castle’s horror thriller “Orphan: First Kill”. The film serves as a prequel to 2009’s “Orphan” which was released by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Isabelle Fuhrman reprises her role from the original movie as Leena, a murderous sociopath who looks like a child due to a medical condition.

Following an escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility, Leena comes to America impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy Connecticut family. But her new life as ‘Esther’ comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother (Julia Stiles) who will protect her family at any cost.

The film, currently in post-production, was directed by William Brent Bell (“The Boy”) and penned by Dave Coggeshall. James Tomlinson, Alex Mace, Hal Sadoff and Ethan Erwin produce.
