Salem’s Lot

Tom Jones
Solly McLeod and Sophie Wilde have been set to lead the cast of the four-part period TV series adaptation of Henry Fielding’s classic 1749 novel “Tom Jones” for PBS, Masterpiece and ITV.

The story is the scandalous tale of a young man’s attempt to find a place in the world. The story was famously adapted into a 1963 feature starring Albert Finney. Gwyneth Hughes is penning the series and filming begins this Fall in Belfast. [Source: Deadline]

Freeform has renewed the series “Good Trouble” for a fourth season. The show follows the residents of Downtown Los Angeles’ The Coterie as they juggle career, love and friendship and learn that standing up for what you believe in requires making a little noise and getting into trouble. Via Negativa
Hannah Peterson has been tapped to adapt and direct Daniel Hornsby’s critically acclaimed novel “Via Negativa” into a feature for Complementary Colors.

The story follows a spurned priest who goes on a mythic road trip with a wounded coyote, a loaded pistol, and a mission to avenge his best friend. The priest’s Toyota Camry becomes a mobile confessional for various troubled and fascinating characters. [Source: Deadline]

Gossip Girl
HBO Max has renewed its revival of “Gossip Girl” for a second season, citing record viewership over its first weekend on the platform. While it wouldn’t give numbers, it says the series had the best launch for a Max Original Drama series this year. The back half of the first season returns in November. [Source: TV Line]
