Filming has wrapped on the first episode of HBO’s TV series adaptation of the acclaimed video game “The Last of Us”. The announcement was made by the episode’s director Kantemir Balagov (“Beanpole”).
The series is reportedly the largest television production in Canadian history, with a total budget that could reach as high as $200 million. Production of the series began in July in Calgary and is expected to run for nearly a full year.
The series is written by Craig Mazin (“Chernobyl”) and game director Neil Druckmann. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey lead the cast of the series which is targeting a late 2022 debut.
