Netflix’s animated series “Magic: The Gathering” is moving forward with Brandon Routh (“Superman Returns,” “Legends of Tomorrow”) set to lead the voice cast of the series which will premiere in late 2022.
The anime series will blend familiar and well-loved Planeswalkers for “Magic” fans with new characters in a whole new story. Routh will voice the role of Gideon, an unfalteringly heroic Planeswalker.
Jeff Klein (“Transformers: Prime”) executive produces, replacing “Avengers: Endgame” duo Joe and Anthony Russo. Scripts for the first season have already been completed.
In addition, Django Wexler will pen an upcoming novel that will serve as a prequel to the Netflix show. The novel will arrive alongside the launch of the series.
