“The Suicide Squad” and “Luther” star has been cast as the voice of fan-favorite character Knuckles in the upcoming “Sonic the Hedgehog” sequel.
The red Knuckles served as an antagonist in 1994’s “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” before becoming an ally and then joining Sonic in 1995’s “Sonic & Knuckles”.
Jeff Fowler once again directs, with Ben Schwartz returning to voice Sonic. James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore and Jim Carrey also star in the live-action elements of the film.
Pat Casey & Josh Miller and John Whittington penned the script. Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, Toru Nakahara, Hitoshi Okuno are producing.
2020’s “Sonic the Hedgehog” was one of the last major traditional blockbusters before COVID-19 hit. The sequel is due to arrive just over two years later on April 8th 2022.
