The Harder They Fall
Jeymes Samuel all-star all-Black western “The Harder They Fall” will have its world premiere as the opening film of the 65th BFI London Film Festival on October 6th. Simultaneous preview screenings at cinemas across the U.K. will also take place.
Regina King, Idris Elba, Jonathan Majors, Delroy Lindo, LaKeith Stanfield, Zazie Beetz, Danielle Deadwyler, Edi Gathegi, R.J. Cyler, Damon Wayans Jr. and Deon Cole star in the film which will debut on Netflix on November 3rd. [Source: THR]

HBO Max has announced they will allow non-subscribers access to some of their hit shows with pilots/premieres being made available to non-subscribers. HBO Max will also rotate the slot of available shows and viewers will also be able to navigate throughout the service – offering a glimpse at additional programming.

Valdemar Universe
Radar Pictures is adapting Mercedes Lackey’s Valdemar nearly sixty-book strong literary universe for television. The first season will be adapted from the Last Herald-Mage trilogy that stared with “Magic’s Pawn”.
The series centers around openly gay heroic protagonist Vanyel, the persecuted and abused son of a Valdemaran noble, who finds acceptance at Haven when he is Chosen by the magical horse-like Companion Yfandes. Kit Williamson (“EastSiders”) is adapting with author Brittany Cavallaro. [Source: Deadline]
Tony Hawk
Skateboarding superstar Tony Hawk will be the subject of a major forthcoming and as-yet-untitled feature documentary produced by Mark and Jay Duplass that has been in the works for a few years.
The feature will focus on the life and career of Hawk and is being directed by filmmaker-photographer Sam Jones (“I Am Trying to Break Your Heart”). A fall festival launch is anticipated ahead of a wider release in 2022. [Source: Variety]
