Filmmaker Rian Johnson has confirmed that he has completed filming in Greece on the “Knives Out” sequel, and the location shoot’s end marks the halfway point in overall filming.
The murder mystery will now move to another location, most likely for interior sound stage work as opposed to Greece which has involved plenty of exteriors judging by set photos.
Daniel Craig returns as investigator Benoit Blanc and is this time joined by Dave Bautista, Kate Hudson, Edward Norton, Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Madelyn Cline, Jessica Henwick, and Ethan Hawke.
Plot details are still under wraps. One of the original film’s stars, Don Johnson, was spotted the other day in Greece leading to speculation his character could return for a cameo.
The film is the first of a two-picture deal with Netflix and a third “Knives Out” is expected down the road at some point. “Knives Out 2” will likely hit Netflix sometime in 2022.
Just about halfway through our shoot, that’s a wrap on Greece! Thanks to all the wonderful folks here and our local crew, who killed it. (Metaphorically, not a spoiler) pic.twitter.com/3gDS6kqbp3
