Both Marvel Studios and DC Films are officially skipping the upcoming Comic-Con@Home event this month. This comes as little surprise as both have their own direct avenue for events now.
DC will hold another Fandome in October, while Marvel will use Disney’s own events like next year’s D23 or investor day presentations to make announcements.
It’s presently not clear if Sony’s Marvel properties like “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” or “Morbius” will make an appearance.
It’s part of a growing trend with larger companies who are skipping large confabs for smaller and more direct presentations they control – such as Sony PlayStation skipping E3 in recent years.
It’s not clear what film studios will turn up at this year’s presentation.
