This coming weekend, Netflix will release the first of a trilogy of films based on R.L. Stine’s best-selling “Fear Street” horror series.
It’s the launch title of three movies all directed by Leigh Janiak (“Honeymoon”) with the other two set to be released on a weekly basis in July. All three films were shot together and tie into each other despite each being set in decidedly different time periods albeit in the same town of ‘Shadyside’.
To date, Netflix has released trailers that covered all three at once. Now, with just days to go, the streamer has unleashed the full trailer for just the first of the films – “Fear Street Part 1: 1994”.
In that film a group of teenagers discovers that the terrifying events that have haunted their town for generations ​may all be connected – and that they may be the next targets.
Maya Hawke, Ashley Zuckerman, Jordana Spiro, Olivia Scott-Welch, Kiana Madeira, and Benjamin Flores Jr. star.
“Fear Street Part 1: 1994” hits Netflix on July 2nd and will be followed by “Fear Street Part 2: 1978” on July 9th and “Fear Street Part 3: 1666” on July 16th.
