“Sweet Tooth” co-creator Jim Mickle will direct a film adaptation of Donny Cates’ 2017 graphic novel “God Country” at Legendary and AfterShock Media.
The story follows Emmett Quinlan, an elderly widower rattled by dementia with violent outbursts. When a tornado levels his West Texas town – a restored Quinlan rises from the wreckage with an enchanted sword restoring his body and granting him great power. He’s now the only man who can face the otherworldly creatures the sword has drawn to his home state.
Cates adapted the screenplay while Mickle, Linda Moran, Lee Kramer and Jon Kramer produce.
