Universal Pictures and Working Title are working on a new live-action feature film adaptation of Mary Norton’s action-adventure book series “The Borrowers”.
The story follows a family of tiny people who live secretly in the walls and floors of an English house and ‘borrow’ from the big people in order to survive.
Conrad Vernon (“Sausage Party,” “Monsters vs. Aliens,” “The Addams Family”) directs the new take from a screenplay by Patrick Burleigh (“Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway,” “Marvel’s Eternals”). Working Title and Polygram released a previous film adaptation in 1997 starring John Goodman and Jim Broadbent.
Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producing the new take.
